Clean electrification will be the basis of decarbonization. Proving products are produced with clean power requires much more granular data and advanced tools than are typically used today. New tools and standards are emerging that help us ensure products like clean hydrogen, alumimum and steel can be powered with truly clean power every hour, everywhere. Scaling these new best in class approaches requires standardized, streamlined granular energy data as well as tracking certificates that are harmonized with existing tracking systems to ensure environmental legitimacy and avoid double counting. How will future collaboration look between regulators, standards bodies, suppliers, and the private sector to scale these global standards? The answer sits at the intersection of technical solutions, policy, and governance. This interdisciplinary panel will map out the dependencies required for the transition to granular reporting that drives grid decarbonization and clean trade at scale.
