Software solutions for the energy sector need to align with highest security standards. Most of the open-source projects often rely on various other open-source libraries. And as code and libraries grow, so do potential vulnerabilities, which can shake trust in open-source solutions. In addition, there might be no clear process how and how quick these vulnerabilities will be fixed. We'll discuss the importance of quickly finding and fixing these issues. We'll share how Renovate helps us keep software dependencies updated, reducing technical debt and security risks. We will show how our approach, used with OpenSCD, can be adopted by other LF Energy projects, making open-source solutions in the energy sector more secure and reliable. Our presentation will include a presentation and a live demo of a real repository and its management.
